2024 Convention:  August 30 – September 2, 2024 – Grand Rapids, Michigan

The MPO Convention 2024 will be held at the Amway Grand Plaza Hilton Hotel in Downtown Grands Rapids, MI. More specific details for the weekend events are coming soon. Visit the Convention page to make your hotel reservations, purchase your weekend ticket packages, or sponsor an event. Join us at our upcoming convention as Macedonian families gather together and celebrate their heritage, forming life-long friendships and continuing the long tradition of the MPO annual convention.

2024 Day of Discovery:  May 18, 2024 – Boardman, Ohio 

Jimmie Jarvis Memorial Scholarship
($1000 winning scholarship and two $500 runner up scholarships)

Plan to Attend this “mini-convention”

DAY OF DISCOVERY SCHEDULE:

10:00am: Registration for the Jimmie Jarvis Scholarship Essay Competition. Any high school or college student may compete.  A light breakfast will be served!

Workshops: 
All workshops are free of charge and need to be attended by students who wish to enter the scholarship competition.

10:30am:  Macedonian dance workshop with Jeff and Danielle Mentzer

11:30am:  History of Macedonia with Sonia Tsvetkoff

12:30pm:  Lunch to be provided

1:00pm:  Frescos of the Medieval Balkans with Alexander Gonser

Essay writing:  Immediately following the last workshop

Scholarships to be awarded at the end of Day of Discovery

Evening Schedule:
Dinner Buffet (5:30pm) and Dance (7:00-10:00pm)
$25 (13 years old and up), $15 (ages 6-12), 5 & under free

If attending the dance only:  $15 adults, $10 (ages 13-19), 12 & under free
Jeff Mentzer’s band Noćne Sove will play traditional Macedonian Oros that we all love!
